Changes affecting surface Contracts and Survey Plans for Oil and Gas activities on Indian Lands

Indian Oil & Gas Canada (IOGC: Information Letter and Webinar) IOGC has released an Information Letter (IL) regarding the following changes that take effect October 1, 2016:

• new requirements for survey plans related to oil and gas activities on Indian lands
• change to the surface disposition process as it relates to surveys and submission of the Band Council Resolution

To assist affected stakeholders, the IL will include a detailed overview of the changes, a summary of the survey plan requirements, and suggested IOGC survey checklists.  In addition, IOGC has conducted a joint webinar with Natural Resources Canada, Surveyor General Branch.
